A Belfast man swapped his vintage football jersey for guest list at a rapper's Dublin show and started a trend

Some inspiration for next time you’re stuck for tickets.

LOYLE CARNER IS an English rapper whose style of ‘confessional hip hop‘ has been described as ‘sensitive and eloquent‘ by NME.

And it’s true. Few rappers have gone into the territory of writing songs about how much they love their mam (except Kanye West, of course). In ‘Sun Of Jean’, Loyle Carner collaborates with his mother to make a heartfelt track where they both show their appreciation of one another.

Loyle Carner’s performing in The Button Factory in Dublin tonight and unfortunately, tickets are all sold out.

Recognising the rappers appreciation of football jerseys, a Twitter user from Belfast called Gregg Reid offered him a 1990 Swedish home jersey in exchange for two spots on guest list.

Not only did Loyle accept Gregg’s offer, but he actually said that anyone else who offers him a decent jersey in size L for the remainder of his tour can have two tickets.

The offers started rolling in.

Loyle accepted a Crystal Palace 2001 home jersey, saying his mam will ‘go mad over this one’.

He also got England’s away shirt from the 1990 World Cup.

As well as that he got 1994 Liverpool away shirt and iconic Liverpool jersey that was out when Steven Gerrard began his career with the team.

And an Ajax jersey which may or may not be real. Carner asked to see the tags.

Not a bad haul.

He got back to Gregg in the end and confirmed his tickets for tonight were sorted.
